Learning about Our Bones in the Orchard Class
Last week we learned about our skeletal system and the important role our bones play in protecting other organs in our bodies. The children worked on skeleton booklets, made a Mr. Bones skeleton man with toilet paper & paper towel rolls, and created an x-ray image of their hand using Q-tips. Studying the Intestines in the Orchard Class
Yesterday in the Orchard classroom it was all about the intestines. The children learned about the large and small intestines and how food travels through our intestines after we eat it. Then we created our intestines using dough, and learned just how long our intestines can be. As a special snack we ate our "intestines" coated with jam. No worries, Ms. Denise made separate intestines for eating, so they did not eat the dough that their hands were all over! It was a fun day!
