Kindergarten Cultural Program Asia - South Korea
The Kindergarten class began learning about Asia. The children were treated to two celebrations on South Korea. On Wednesday, Mrs. Myers (the toddler and PM K teacher) shared the family’s Korean heritage. Her son was born in Korea. He is the cutie in the center of the poster she is holding. Field Trip to the Ridgewood Police Station
Our field trip to the Ridgewood Police Station was a success! Many thanks to Officer Christopher & Officer Amoruso for giving us a tour of the station. The children were shown how criminals are fingerprinted, the bench where they sit handcuffed and the jail they are kept in. We entered into the command center and some of the children were able to send messages through the microphone. AM Kindergarten Cultural Program - Europe - Serbia
We thank the Cvetanovic family for sharing their Serbian heritage. Vasilije's mom (Millie) came to class to talk about Serbia. Vasilije was born in the USA but, his grandparents are from Serbia. Vasilije is studying both the English and Serbian language. He shared his Serbian workbook with the class. We also saw how different the Cyrillic alphabet is. Traffic Light Snacks
The Orchard Class ended the week of land transportation by making graham cracker traffic lights. The children have been learning to identify various street signs and what they mean. We hope they will start to recognize some of the street signs as they ride around with you in the car! #LandTransportation


Visit with the Ambulance
This Ridgewood Emergency Services visited the Montessori Learning Center so that the children could learn about their ambulance. Mr. Jonathan Papietro and Mr. Michael Ramsay showed the children all the parts of the vehicle, and where they store the supplies that may be needed if someone were injured. The children were able to climb inside the ambulance and see all of the life- saving equipment that the men use. They even turned on the ambulance sirens at the end of the visit


Orchard Land Transportation Fun - AM + PM
As part of our study on land transportation, we designed a land transportation obstacle course in the gym for the children to enjoy. They raced against one another using cars and monster trucks as well as followed a course complete with street lights that they had to drive through. We ended our fun with the children pretending to be cars. Their favorite part seemed to be going through our pretend car wash, complete with water misting and fan drying. #LandTransportation


Kindergarten Cultural Curriculum - Europe - Denmark
