Mr. Walvoord, Theo's dad, was kind enough to come in and talk to The orchard class about his occupation as an import/export specialist of dried fruits and nuts. His job has taken him to over 40 different countries including Africa, Mexico, South America, China and Algeria, just to name a few. Mr. Walvoord purchases fruits and nuts from different countries, brings them back to the United States, and has them processed into dried fruits and nuts. The children were able to ask him questions about where different fruits came from. He also brought the children some dried mangos so they could have them as a special snack.
Many thanks to Mr. Walvoord for sharing his occupation with us!
