Occupation Week: Officer Rellinger

So many amazing guests this week! We had a special visit from Officer Rellinger (Ms. Rellinger's daughter). Officer Rellinger works as a police officer for the Ridgefield Park Police Department.

She came into the classroom and talked to the children about the various duties of an officer. She explained that the children should not be afraid to ask an officer for help, as policemen are here to protect and help people. Officer Rellinger explained how she used the various tools she wore around her waist and let the children see her bullet proof vest, which they found fascinating. She read a book about what policemen do and gave each child a flashlight and a shield tattoo to take home.

Many thanks to Officer Rellinger for coming into the classroom to share her occupation with us! The children thought it was so funny that a police officer was Ms. Rellinger's daughter!
