Making Hibernation cupcakes
In the Orchard classroom yesterday the children made hibernation cupcakes. They made the batter and then hid a teddy graham in each cupcake. We frosted them today and then be all set for Thursday when we go on our bear hunt.

Learning about Hungary
As part of The Bird’s Nest cultural curriculum Colton's mother and grandmother came to our class for a presentation about Hungary. This month the children are learning about Europe. They brought in beautiful embroidered clothing, the children learned a dance, they colored the hungarian flag, heard a book about Hungary and even learned some words too. Here are some pictures! Enjoy!

Making Snow
Today in the Orchard classroom the children experimented with corn starch and shaving cream to make snow. They had a lot of fun playing with it. I have attached some pictures for you to enjoy!

If You Give a Moose a Muffin
In the Bird’s Nest class we read the book, made a fun craft and made muffins!

Hibernating Classroom
For the last two weeks in the Orchard class we have been doing a mini-unit on hibernation with the children. You may have heard them talking about hibernation at home. We are learning about different animals and classifying them as animals that hibernate, animals that adapt and animals that migrate. We are also learning about arctic animals. The children are working on hibernation booklets as well as other fun hibernation jobs. We have turned the book corner into a bear cave.
